Dear Friends,

I was once told that I looked like Chaka Khan. It’s true.

Another time somebody said I reminded them of Diana Ross. I thought ok I guess I could see why they thought that. I had big, big hair, I was skinny as can be and I was dancing to “Upside Down” by Diana Ross in a club in Brussels.

There was also that one time when a friend’s mother said I looked like Christy Turlington. That one threw me. My friend and I burst out laughing because it was so left field.

How do people see us? Is it our features and body parts? Or our body language, gestures, and posture? Or our qualities and sensibilities? Probably, it’s a combination of all of these things. It can be mind-blowing how people perceive us and how we perceive them.

How accurate is our perception of ourselves or others? What purpose does and can it serve?

This week, I invite you to take a little time for yourself and consider how you perceive yourself.

Are you friendly towards yourself or all business? Are there blurry or unclear areas in knowing yourself? What would help you to see/experience yourself more clearly? Could you invest the time and energy to create that?

It’s amazing to me that it took me many decades to realize that I could have a personal, loving relationship with myself, that I could enjoy my own company and have a good time doing the things I love.

One of the things I love to do is to make myself laugh. The other thing I love to do is meditate with you. I so love seeing you and connecting with you in My Weekly Meditation.
