Is letting go difficult or easy?

Something in between, you say?

Is it an intellectual exercise? Or a calling for a spiritual awakening?

It could be both – that all depends.

Are we holding on to a genetic imprinting of memories of famine, struggle and strife – times in our past (lives) when we were barely clinging to life?

Maybe.

Do we ultimately have a choice about what we hold onto?

Yes.

Then let’s let go of “stuff”. Let’s release the people, feelings, and situations we hold onto psychologically, emotionally, and physically that no longer support us. Why hold on to a memory of someone not loving you? Why clutch at that feeling of loneliness, or keep that suit you never wear?

What would it feel like to be able to just say “I let go,”… and walk away?

Ready to try this? Let’s do it together.

First, let’s get centered for letting go. Take a deep breath into your body and close your eyes. Take a few more breaths, allowing your body to adjust to this shift in pace. Breathe. Slow down.

Now, imagine a white light coming in from the universe through the top of your head and into your body. You may sense the white light, or feel it. Give yourself a few moments to connect to this light. Keep breathing and fill your whole body up with it. Once you feel full, imagine extending this white light out through your solar plexus like a searchlight, right back into the sky.

Fully practice this exercise of pulling in the white light from the universe, filling your body, and then extending the light back out into the universe. This exercise will energize the body and create a sense of expansion.

When you feel ready, take a another deep breath and think of something that you are holding onto that doesn’t nourish you. It could be a memory, a feeling, or a person. Once you have that in mind, take another deep breath into your body and simply say: “I let go.”.

As you say this, give your body/emotions/mind the sense of letting go. You lead them in this exercise. Study this feeling of release as you repeat “I let go.”. Breathe, take your time, and repeat the process.

As you let go, feel yourself moving closer to home, deep within yourself & past all those places that hold on. Feel yourself being pulled inward, toward a sense of radiant inner calm. When you connect to these energies, take a deep breath and sit in meditation.

Stay in this vibration for as long as you would like. When you are ready, take a few deep breaths into your body and open your eyes.

We can always connect to the light within ourselves – our deepest sense of freedom, illumination and the quietude – by simply choosing to let go.
