Smile Meditation
Since I am away for the 1st half of June, I decided to film an old favorite of mine. The Smile Meditation.
On Humans Being
Within each of us resides a symphony of extraordinary forces that shape our lives. It is truly remarkable to consider the intricate workings, vastness, and near infinite potential of 4 core aspects of the human being. Let’s take a moment to explore: Our Emotions, Our Minds, Our Bodies, and Our Spirit.
Self Discovery
Do you remember the first time you questioned the purpose of your life? Was there a specific moment when you wondered if there wasn’t something more? We’ve all been there. For me, it happened when I was 19 years old and knee deep in law studies. In a moment of self reflection, I dared to explore the unknown and color outside the lines. It was as if I was awake in a dream.
Cross Crawl
Cross-crawl exercises involve movements that use opposition, such as crawling, walking, running, and swimming.
Chronic Levitation
Have you ever experienced a racing mind at 3 am that leaves you tired and wired, with thoughts spinning in your head so much that your head hurts from jaw clenching?
Avoidant Behaviors
Remember, you don’t have to face this alone. Let’s start the journey towards a more fulfilling life. Get in touch with me today!
Have you heard of Ren?
Sometimes, the internet can feel overwhelming and we’re bombarded with viral content that doesn’t really matter. But when something like this comes along, it’s a reminder of the power of art and music to move us and connect us to something deeper.
Feeling Yourself?
Today I have a question for you: When did you feel most like yourself in the last few days? This question was posed to me recently and got me thinking about all the moments in my life when I may not have felt entirely like myself.
Rain or Shine
Whether it’s rain or shine, I’m leaning a little more into gratitude for every moment and every opportunity that life presents me with. And I encourage you to explore your leanings when it comes to opportunities.
A Somatic Experiencing Technique
Do you find yourself struggling to put a stop to repetitive or overwhelming thoughts and narratives that leave you feeling frustrated or overwhelmed? Just know that you’re not alone in this experience.
In the last few years, I’ve been practicing a simple technique that has helped me separate from obsessive thinking and emotional overwhelm, find quiet, and reconnect more deeply with myself. I’d love to share it with you.
Joy
This is how it happens for me. I stop whatever thoughts I am having and ask myself, “Is joy possible in this moment for me?” If the answer is yes, I enquire, “Am I taking advantage of that possibility?” Or if not, I ask, “What’s getting in the way? Is there something more pressing that needs my attention?”
It will be different tomorrow.
She said, “It feels hopeless right now, but it will be different tomorrow.” At first, I didn’t want to let her words in. But as I reflected on them, I began to see how profound they were because they were based on the challenges she had overcome. She had faced the abyss and had returned wiser, stronger and with a roadmap for such times.
Jet Lag
Today, I invite you to be curious about your dreams and states of consciousness. I invite you to open the doors of your perception.
I know it can be challenging
I know it can be challenging to face the things we want to avoid especially if we have blindspots or feel overwhelmed. This is where I can offer you or your loved one support to help you figure out what’s really going on and organize the emotions, thoughts and the past and put them in their proper place. Allowing for some real healing, integration and growth.
Travels
So, today, whether you’re planning your next trip or simply daydreaming about it, remember that traveling is not just about seeing new places, it’s also about discovering new perspectives and gaining a deeper understanding of ourselves and the world around us.
For some inner travels, join us for My Weekly Meditation, Saturdays at 11 am MST.
Is Reality An Acquired Taste?
Is reality really an acquired taste? Is reality like one of those exotic foods that few people actually like? Could it be possible that some people actively have no taste for reality? Don’t we all lose our taste for reality from time to time?
I Have Fallen For
Today, I encourage you to catch the pernicious thoughts, assumptions, and beliefs that pierce your inner balance and serenity. Be willing to slow down, to enquire about the nature, purpose, or truth of your inner dialogues and commentaries.
Invited to the Table
Today, I invite you to be curious about your ideas. Which ideas ignite you and bring clarity to your continued growth? Who’s dinner table do you wish you had a seat at?
Replicators
Star Trek: The Original Series introduced its viewers to a wide variety of potential technological advancements. Many of these have come to be such, as flip phones and tablet computers, but what about the replicators?
Synchronicities
Today, I encourage you to be curious about signs, coincidences, and synchronicities just for fun. I wonder how many times a friend or family member has called you just as you were thinking about them. Did that tickle you? Or, found yourself humming a tune and it comes on the TV or radio? Enjoy!
You’ve come this far, where to from here?
I encourage you to contemplate these questions in order to discover how far you’ve come and to see where you may want to go from here.
What Does Higher Power Mean To You?
What does higher power mean to you? I know people that if you shared with them that you believe in a higher power or have a higher self they would positively roll their eyes and you would probably diminish in their esteem.
Winter Is Coming
I have to be honest and say I’m not excited about the end of the fall season and the beginning of winter. The cold and I just don’t vibe well together.
Extinction is the Rule. Survival is the Exception
Carl Sagan, the American cosmologist, and all-around scientist said, “Extinction is the rule. Survival is the exception.”
This Trip Was About Helping a Loved One
I have just returned from a challenging trip overseas where I was overwhelmed and felt myself slipping into fear at times.
Together We Can Do Anything
If we can unite in song, in feelings, in giving someone the space to be themselves and appreciate them, I feel pretty confident that that kind of togetherness creates beautiful, happy, people.
Year Wrap Up 2021
This week see what calls you, maybe it’s an invitation to meet friends, a hike, a drive to the coast.
You are Amazing!
This week, take a moment to consider how many times you have shown up for yourself and others in the face of fears and challenges.
How Accurate is Our Perception?
How do people see us? Is it our features and body parts? Or our body language, gestures, and posture? Or our qualities and sensibilities?
Dare We Turn Our Gaze to the Year?
This year we have weathered uncertainty, loss and still managed to knit our families and homes together in the midst of a pandemic.
